How to move from Asana to Aqtos.
Start with an Asana project export and a small import into Aqtos. Check task content, project structure and the fields your team depends on before setting a cutover date.
Export an Asana project.
- Choose the first project.
Select a manageable project with a representative mix of tasks. Record its sections, task count, owners and essential fields so you can compare the result.
- Open Export/Print.
In Asana, open the menu beside the project title, hover over Export/Print and select JSON or CSV. See Asana’s project export instructions for the current options.
- Keep a reference copy.
Store the original export before editing or transforming it. Check that it includes the records and information you expect, especially when your team uses subtasks or custom fields.
Prepare the first Aqtos import.
- Open Tech → Import.
Select Get started, choose Task as the entity and choose Next. Provide the structured export through Browse or the drop area.
- Follow the assistant’s prompts.
Work through the choices presented for your file. Confirm the target workflow and ask support about any unclear field mapping before importing a larger batch.
- Compare representative tasks.
Check titles, descriptions, checklist content and statuses against the source. Inspect work from different sections and any tasks with the complex structure your team uses.
Validate the move before cutover.

Which export formats does Asana provide?
Asana’s project export documentation lists JSON and CSV. The best choice depends on the fields you need and the importer’s handling of your file; test a small project first.
Will our rules and portfolios transfer automatically?
Do not assume that they will. Document how the team uses them, verify the resulting records and recreate the needed workflow after the core import is checked.
What should we test beyond the import?
